A 19th Century French Farmhouse Solid Oak Kitchen Cupboard 140 X 147 X 60cm
On offer here is this beautiful 19th-century French farmhouse cupboard/dresser. 140cm wide x 147cm tall x 60cm deep. Made sometime at the end of the 19th century this beautiful piece of furniture is made of solid oak.
I bought it in France last week I think we can say that it is French / Flemish. On each door are detailed carvings with swags and flowers at the top and baskets of flowers at the bottom of the doors typical of French provincial furniture from this period and on each door the original rococo brass key escutcheon. It is a rustic/provincial piece of furniture but i would say it was made by a cabinetmaker not a carpenter due to the use of quite fine mouldings.
Obviously this is an old rustic piece of furniture so there are some signs of wear consistent with its age but overall it is in very good condition with no splits or cracks and no funny smells. On the top left hand side of the cupboard as you look at it there is a quarter inch of the beading which has been removed obviously to get into the space which was too small for it. In the Photographs it is stood on two small wooden blocks because the ground was uneven. We live in Scarborough but my warehouse is in Cambridge I know, confusing!! For the THE NORTH, WALES, LOWLAND SCOTLAND, CORNWALL, DEVON.
